Song Report for the 2018 Wedding Season

In searching for guidance and ideas for their wedding music planning, couples often ask what's popular with other people. There are some beloved classics that have been popular for my entire career - "Here Comes the Sun", "Canon in D", "Ho Hey". But each year different songs seem to surface as seasonal favorites. Here are 2018's popular choices:

  • "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran (everyone loves Ed this year!)
  • "Make You Feel My Love" by Bob Dylan, Adele, and others
  • "Come to Me" by the Goo Goo Dolls
  • "Wildflowers" by Tom Petty
  • "I Do" by Colbie Caillat
  • "All You Need Is Love" by The Beatles
  • "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis
  • "Your Song" by Elton John

I think I've played "Canon in D" less this year than any year prior. Couples are opting for more personalized choices and special requests, which keeps it interesting for me!

I've gotten some great special requests this summer, too. Here are the new additions:

  • "Guiding Light" by Foy Vance
  • "At Last" by Etta James
  • "Swept Away" by The Avett Brothers
  • "Today" by Brad Paisley
  • "I Melt with You" (instrumental) by the Modern English
  • "You & I" by Ingrid Michaelson
  • "First Day of My Life" by Bright Eyes
  • "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz

Coming Soon!

  • "I Get to Love You" by Ruelle (late Aug)
  • "Everlong" by the Foo Fighters (early Sept)
  • "The Voice" by Celtic Women (early Oct)
  • "Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop" by Landon Pigg (mid Oct)
