Guitar Tutorial: Geordie + Ideas for Drop D Accompaniment

By far my most popular video on YouTube, I finally sat and did a breakdown of the lovely, triumphant Scottish folk song “Geordie.” Turns out it was a bit more complicated than I gave myself credit for! Being a rhythm drive song as it is, I’ve only tabbed out the melodic sections and provided a chord chart. For the finer elements and nuances of the rhythm and arrangement, you’ll have to check out the video!

If you’re new to drop D or to Celtic accompaniment and arrangement in general, I hope this tutorial also inspires you and gives you some new ideas to work into your own arrangements.
